Yeah, I was the originator of the Maxtor thread.  Since Vince D. seemed to hate
Maxtors and dislike drives that spin slower than 7200 RPM, I figured maybe he'd
like this particular deal better.

Personally, I've used many, many brands of hard drives since the mid-'80s and
every brand has had mostly good results and some failures (Micropolis was the
worst to me).  In recent years, Maxtors have been great to me.  I'm not an
expert on which brand is best.  I do think the price listed here is very good
for this model, and offers a good alternative to the $150 80 GB Maxtor of last
week.
