Why not get an idea of endgame strength while using TBs? I can't say for sure, but if I was a program author (I'm not), I may try to improve the endgame play while assuming that a certain set of TBs will be present (e.g. all 4 man). Maybe this is a poor assumption, but I think that programmers may not be able to optimise their engines for both cases (time/effort involved). And I think most serious users will use TBs. Just a thought. Gordon
