Hi guys, I wrote a rather long-winded message a few weeks ago inquireing if REBEL CENTURY would run under the new windows operating system. I was assured by most posters that it would. Now it appears that is not the case. Thus I am now officially looking for a new program. It seems to me the choice is between Junior and Fritz. Please answer this question if you can. When I used to use HIARCS, and set it on moniter, it would enable me to watch it think. It would show me the three best moves it found when you set the "show variations" to the number 3. I found this a very nifty feature to determine what lines I would like to play, and allowed me to instintly compare what I thought were two equivocal lines. My old REBEL CENTURY only showed one variation, although I believe the newer (DOS) versions of the program allow you to see more than that, up to 4. I would like to know how many simultaneous variations I can see when Fritz and Junior are analyzing a game. I am also interested in easily printing chess diagrams (black and white), and would like a program which has the most "Linares-like" chess pieces, as you see in most modern chess books. Which of these programs (or any others) would foot that bill?
