Yes, I think this is correct. I would call it a bug in the Chessbase Winboard
adapter. I have reported it several time, but I did not get any feedback. Often,
it will help to get rid of the -1, to just do a move and undoing it again.

I am almost certain, that the mate is shorter. You have mentioned, that you
don't have KPPPK. Neither do I. Even then, it would not help Yace, because it
does not probe KXXXK - I think they cannot help in "real" games, and may even
make things slower. But I am not sure here either.  I have no means to test it.
It would be less than 10 keystrokes for me to enable KXXXK probing.
Unfortunately, it is not easy to make this optional. Perhaps Eugene Nalimov
reads this. I think, he would have no problem to make the #define T41_INCLUDE
(which can be changed at compile time) to a run time option. For me, it is not
easily possible.

BTW. To find a shortest mate, some normally useless TBs might also help.
Something like KQQPK, KQQKP etc. But these problems are most probably in better
hands with the experts, like Heiner.
