I admit this method of measuring is flawed, but not as much as you think.
I believe that most people that visit my site (and will later purchase the
program) have no idea about me or Chess Tiger before they visit the site. I have
some evidence of this by the email exchanges I have with them.
I do believe the relative percentages I get give a good idea about the average
Internet surfer.
Even if it is not 97% of my potential customers who are running Windows but just
75%, it does not change the fact that I must target Windows for the PC version
of my program.
