I suspect it was a mistake by that one lady. According to the XP FAQ posted at the Microsoft site, you can run XP on one desktop and one laptop computer, but no more. Also, they indicate if you have five or more computers you are eligible for their site-licensing and thus do not have to activate each computer individually. Paul
