I installed CM 8000 on my old Win2k machine and didn't have a problem, but this time I'm experiencing a weird bug: When I use any of the patches (I've tried 101, 102 and 104), all tournaments are against the Chessmaster! I can select other opponents but when the tournament starts, the CM appears. And, it does seem to really be the CM. So far I've tried re-installing, uninstalling, wiping the directory and doing a clean install. I also checked the registry but only found settings for sound there. Each time the UN-patched version plays fine but the patched version doesnt. I have not been installing the anti-CD fix. This system is running Windows 2000 SP 2 Has anyone seen this before? Is there a fix? It's a drag playing the unpatched version because I get the one-second move thing. thanks for any clues Betsy
