Hi Enrico, > You're missing out on a great engine, that if the few bugs in the Fritz 7 > interface really affect you, can be ran just fine in the Fritz 6 interface.. > And if I remember correctly, just about every other GUI/engine combo on the > market has released bug fixes... Shredder 5 + GUI was quite bug free ! Also the Millenium Chess System has not any serious bug (I think there was really no service pack at all and for Shredder 5 it was just one service pack that has some new features, but nearly no bug fix) Same to the Rebel 11 - package, service packs were always a feature-package, but not so many bug fixes... But on the other hand, there is ChessMaster - each version has had some serious bugs and needs some Service Packs to work fine... The question is: Why is this so ? I believe that for ChessMaster is always a VERY strict deadline so the beta-test does not get the time it needs... And I think ChessBase has now the same problem because of their partnership with Eidos, there is a deadline when it MUST be finished, they do not get to much time after it... so its not easy for them... By the way: I own ChessMaster 8000 & Fritz 7 - and I am satisfied with both Greets, Thomas
