Is Fritz 7 have >the same problem ? If you want, try installing Fritz 6 from CD again. Then, apply only the initial upgrade (which results in Fritz 6a engine and GUI). That GUI has a sparring mode which works properly. Of course, other things are broken in that version of the GUI, but sparring mode works fine.
