Go back to the early 1990's and look at rec.games.chess...  Hsu, campbell,
Schaeffer, newborn, Thompson, Schaeffer, Slate, you-name-it were posting there.
That's where the neat IM Mike Valvo vs Deep Thought correspondence match was
played online.

But then the internet caught on, all the freaks came out of the woodwork, and
ran most of the good people off.  If not for CCC, 90% of the computer chess
people would not be posting _anywhere_..
