This one is easy. All you have to know is the average guess rate of the
opponent's move. Bob Hyatt has done tests and Crafty guesses in the
neighborhood of 50%. This varies a little between human and computer
opponents and maybe Bob has separate numbers, but taking the 50% means
that the program is not wasting it's time thinking on 50% of the times
when the opponent is thinking which means that it gains  50% of the time
in comparison to when itself is thinking.  Thus a 50% increase in speed
should equate to about 25 points in the 2400-2500 range. Kaufman's
figure was good when considering programs in the 2000-2200 range.
