Against a human opponent, especially an opponent who hasn't played
against computers much, and especially at faster time controls, i
suspect the rating gain can be a lot more than that. There must be some
psychological value in making instant (but good) replies in positions
where your opponent expects you to have a long think. Bob Hyatt has said
TOOT made a big difference to Crafty's rating on the chess servers. I
can't remember if he gave an exact number, but i got the impression it
was well over 100 points.
