I am not shure you could obtain a "realistic" assessment anyway, because playing
against computers is so different from playing against humans.

For instance, does the defeat of Kasparov against Deep Blue mean that the
computer would achieve a higher rating than Kasparov´s, if it played regurlaly
in the same tournments in which humans take part?
And what if grandmasters trained specifically to do their best at anti-computer
play?

I think we´d need a lot of experiments before answering these questions for
shure.
