Atlas Computers seem to give good value for the buck.  The service department is
not as good as Dell or Gateway or NEC but the prices are much better.  You will
probably be happy with a nice 1700 or 1800 Mhz AMD XP machine.

Get yourself a nice big monitor; 19 to 22 inch, and you will have one nice
system.

Get a good mouse and a smooth keyboard if you type a lot.

The Atlas machine comes with StarOffice 5.2 but you can splurge and get the MS
Office Pro package if you want to jack up the price but I would choose more
memory instead.
