A few months ago I bought Win 2000 instead of ME.  I am totally satisfied with
the results.  It is a much sleeker OS than ME, and it does everything I've
wanted it to, except play CM 6000.  BTW, I am NOT computer savvy, and I can tell
you despite thet "Professional" title this is absolutely fine for the home user.
 I haven't used XP yet (and I don't yet have a reason to), so I won't recommend
2000 instead of XP, but it IS much better than ME or 98 (for home users!).
