My program would keep track of all the relevant computer accounts, so that if an account became active again, it would pop back on the generated list. Amateur isn't playing because I don't have time to work on it, and there's no point in playing over and over with the same old engine. No useful feedback that I don't already have. To automate it, my program would telnet to ICC, finger each account in the list, and process the ratings and games played. All the stats could be generated from that. The only bit of work left was to scan the finger notes to see if anything had changed, like hardware, program version, or whatever. If you do end up automating it, I think a rolling average for the ratings is a good idea, since the actual ratings fluctuate too much. And, maybe adjusted by cpu speed. :) Will
