I hope I can finally get a diagram to work :) [D]5q1k/8/1p3rQ1/p1p1pP1P/1pPpP2K/pP1P4/P4R2/8 w - - 0 18 This is an interesting position I came across. Moves like Qg3 and other retreats can give white a minor advantage maybe from the programs point of view, but it is not clear if there is a win. In this position Kg5! is winning. If after Rxg6 hxg6 the pawn moves to f6 and the rook to h7 and eventually black is in a sort of zugswang. Of course, for a moderately strong human kg5 can be seen in a couple of second easily, but for computers it doesn't look so easy. What do your favourite programs say?
