It works great as an UCI-Engine in the Shredder 5 (Millennium)-GUI. This isn't
freeware though - but probably (?) available for a reduced price. I don't know
if that package (WM2000) ist still recommendable, as it is a bit old and
Shredder 6 is at the doorstep. But there are a number of other things included,
i.e. SOS London... might be worth considering.

Another option could be the free Chess Assistant Light program, which supports
the UCI protocol too. I didn't try it yet, but the feature list - even of the
light version - is quite impressive. It is a chess database program, but
includes a playing GUI too:
