Hi Vincent, oh, you change the facts always the way you want to have them... >First of all. I did not disallow to adjust clock. I did ask him >whether he was insane when he said he wanted to restart his program. You disallow it, because he can only do it with restart. The only way he can do it - simple fact. >Also i have played for years in textmode, and now this guy doesn't. is there a rule where it is stated HOW you have to adjust time ? >I am 100% sure you would forfeit me in a game when you get the chance, >"ah i can beat DIEP, let's GO for it". Befor you write such things please read carefully - I am not against the forfeit, but against not allowing the other to adjust his time. And you are right, in that position I would go on playing, sure - it is still open and I think Diep would win it... But if you can't adjust your time and need a restart I would allow you that restart. Why not ? What can I loose ? >I even remember an email you recently shipped me where i asked whether >playing games against my tournament book was interesting: "i would >beat you in tournaments then" was the fair answer. that is sportsmanship - it is no good idea to exchange tournament books. But it is definitely unfair from you to quote private eMails here. The context was, that I would like to buy Diep if I can get a winboard version - you did not want to produce a newer one but asked me whether I would like to test Diep and thought about giving me your tourney book - I said no because there might be some tourneys in future where we will meet and it would be not fair if I have your tourney book. Just before another championship I was beta-tester of Winboard Edition II where Patzer is a part of it. I did not even open the zip file because in my opinion it would be unfair to do so even if the tourney version might be different. But such things seem to be beyond your understanding. >So not a hair in my mind is going to take a restart risk when i play Quark >with you as operator. I am 100% sure you would have taken the point. Of >course i will too. I will not change my behaviour - even if the opponent is Diep. I am doing that what I think is fair, so I will go on remarking you when Quark has moved. And I will allow you to restart when it is needed due to adjusting the time or whatever even when I know that you wouldn't allow it to me... I have no personal war against you. >I even remember you profitted from a problem in Pesce book against someone >in paderborn! Wasn't it Quark - Pharaon where you had a certain line prepared >against the pesce book which you also once got from Carlos, where you profited >with 1.b4? That is fully wrong, this was no prepared line, I simply had an opening book with me that was full of b4 - lines. At the evening I have drunk some beers and discuss about that I might use b4 next day for opening because I have this book and I have nothing to loose... I did not check any line and in the morning I only disable the gambit line because Quark is to weak for that. I did not test any single game against Pesce book or whatever... I did not even have that book. You are fully disinformed. >Now i would *never* do that. If i get in confidence the Pesce book i >am not going to profit from the fact that i know that pharaon isn't prepared >for some stupid 1.b4 line which is inside it! That was no stupid line and I was very lucky and there was nothing prepared... And I know that YOU prepare everytime against different engines, should I repeat your again ugly statements about Patzer or Crafty ??? Is that needed ? >Of course i fight for my points. But to call me ugly that's not very fair!! why not allowing him to restart ? Anything to loose ??? If you are so sure that you would win ? You mustn't even give him more time, you can simply say he can restart with running his clock... what's the problem ? >It's completely idiotic to assume that i would allow my opponent to have >more time for his engine in a game, because he was so stupid to only start >with 10 minutes operator time in winboard without a way to correct time. who said that he wants more time ? He only wants to adjust his clock ! You didn't see the facts. >You don't know what 90 0 level is in that case!! You behave ugly in that game... Definitely I know what 90 0 is... >I did allow adjustment on time. He didn't have made arrangements to >adjust it. >Who is so stupid then to let him reboot his engine? I would be of course... And please, go on calling me stupid... that's childish. >Suppose your engine only accept FEN positions, should i allow you to >stop the clock and restart your engine each time a move has been made? noone said that you should stop clocks. >You're completely not-realistic here! Computerchess is not like playing real chess, the unrealistic person is you. >And yes, if your flag falls against me i will also claim time. don't worry >about it. You can do it if I do not adjust my time correct. But just to not allow me to adjust the time THAT is ugly... > But most amazing is the naive and completely idiotic attempt here from > this guy from Quark who suddenly seems to be completely different as i know > him, just in order to call me ugly!! Again, the face you show in that game is that of an ugly fighter... decide yourself... maybe you learn something for the future. If not, I do not care, most time I am really okay with you, you know much, you explain much and you are a quite nice person - but even nice persons make mistakes - and you have made an ugly one... that's it.
