It should be one of Dave Kittinger's programs (author of WChess).
But we haven't heard about him lately, so we do not know if it would be an
improved version of the one that was in the Sapphire II, or if it would be
Dave's program at all.
The Star Sapphire does not use the same processor as the Sapphire II, so the
program would have been totally rewritten. That's a lot of work, so maybe the
manufacturer could have been looking for an exiting 68000 program instead.
But that's speculation.
