Hi Otello, >> Why not? The Germans could just as easily complain about all the English! >> There are more European chess programmers than >> US+Canada+England+Australia+New >> Zealand for sure. >> I think the same is probably true for end-users of chess programs. >> If you don't know the language at all, you can still get the gist of it with >> a free online translator. >> When people post in something other than English, it's probably because they >> are far more comfortable with it. If I had to post in French or Turkish, it >> would be pretty painful. >> Besides, usually someone comes along and translates it in short order anyway. > Sorry Dan... But this is an english language based forum...otherwise I will > start to speak in Italian, Jose' in Spanish, etc... we don't want a babel > tower here ....please! noone wants a Babel-Tower - but I do not see your point on which base you declare this forum as an english based ??? It is never nowhere stated... I think it is an international forum about computer chess - the community IS international and some of them are germans which can write easier in german about their thoughts - if it is important it gets translated, you can help yourself by using a translator as Dann has said. And if someone asks in italian and spain something I would try myself to translate it with the translator and answer then... You are right that this forum is mainly english and be sure it will stay so, it is the international language... but if someone can not speak english but want to say something ? Do you want to forbid it ?????? Just because it is german ????? Greets, Thomas
