Dear Mr. Palang,

Thanks for your posting at CSS and for your request per email.

Here you will find my answers and some additional info you probably need to
understand better what exactly we will offer for sales:

The user becomes the product Chess Academy Goliath Blitz, includes Chess Academy
2000 ver. 5.5 SE database, tutorial and playing program (with Chess Academy
engine included, but without opening and middlegame book) + Chess Academy
"Select" database, 2002 edition, total about 1,700,000 games without doubles +
tutorial examples + Goliath Blitz 1.0 engine with engine-books included. This
Chess Academy program version has been designed and compiled on 3 Nov 2001, with
slightly reduced number of program features comparing with full versions of
Chess Academy 2000 ver. 5.5 Expert and Chess Academy 6.0 Office.

1. There is possible to convert databases from CBF and PGN format and use them
under Chess Academy Goliath Blitz. "Joining databases" option is disabled (this
option is enabled in Chess Academy eBooks+, Chess Academy 5.5 Experts packages
and Chess Academy 6.0 Office packages).

2. There are numerous WinBoard-compatible engines which can be used them under
Chess Academy Goliath Blitz. An appropriate configuration files will be placed
on our website, so you can copy any config file them, register
WinBoard-compatible engine (Crafty for example) and use it. Special converter is
not needable, our Chess Academy GUI support WinBoard-compatible engines.

3. There will be approx. 500.000 positions Goliath engine-book.

4. Chess Academy reads (converts into own Chess Academy format) pgn and cbf
files.

The net price for end-customers outside European Union (VAT not included) will
be exactly 35 USD, S&H not included.

For customers inside European Union there will be retail price in EUR, including
VAT, S&H not included.

I hope that the price sounds to be very attractive for end-customers, but if you
will see what we currently offer (eBooks, eBooks+, Chess Academy 5.5 Expert
packages and 6.0 Office packages, you will find probably that all our products
are interesting, when we speaking about value and prices.

The product will be available as multi-language version of the program (English,
German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish).

All tutorials are presented in English, German, French, Spanish and Italian.

The product will be shipped as CD-ROM with CD-Booklet (probably about 10
languages will be used for Installation Notes and Technical Support chapters of
the booklet), easy installation (6 languages) from CD on your harddisk (appr.
450 MB free required), no copy protection.

The program probably will be compatible with Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP
Probably, because we will test very soon again under XP and if any trouble will
be found, we will indicate appropriately.

Sincerely yours

Subject: Goliath Blitz

Hello,
This program seems to be good reading about it on your website. I have a few
questions:1. Can the user add downloaded games into its database? 2. Will other
winboard engines be compatible with it and how easy would it be to install them?
3. How big would goliath's new book would be? 4. Are there other engines
installed with it, example: Crafty or other strong winboard engines? 4.
Would it read games in different formats: pgn, chess assistant format, chessbase
or epd? I hope you can answer my questions. I already wrote about Goliath blitz
on the message board of CCC and it would be nice to have more people aware of
this program.

Thanks, Alfred Palang
