I was testing with a Compaq Armada too :) Well I tested again, now with a homemade one (Abit KT7A, Athlon XP 1600) and did not get anything wrong here either. When you start a new game try to click on personality and make sure that all filters have a mark. You could also try to make a new player and see if this help. The player list is related to your rating so if your profile file is somehow corupted this could be it. Since I'm not capable to provoke this bug, I'm afraid I'm not to much help.
