Yes and no.

My comment above is a little sarcastic, I should have added a ":)".

On the other hand, just using basic alphabeta with QSearch techniques on a fast
Athlon already brings you above 1800.

So the fact that a program is young does not tell us that it must automatically
be under 1800 elo (SSDF).
