Overclocking is running your computer at a faster speed than
it was designed to run at. You must expressly enable it, i.e.
the computer never does it by default. Enabling it requires
good knowledge of hardware and the BIOS (the thing that spits
out information and tests your memory when you turn on your
computer)

If you don't know what it is, you don't have to worry about
not doing it, as you obviously aren't :)
