Not good.

If I ever make a linux port, I might try a unix one too just to see how many
downloads it gets.

A linux port wouldn't hurt. I don't think I would port the GUI as that will
probably be a waste of time, but I will consider a port of the command line
version to linux, probably a long time from now though.

Intel finally has competition (has had for a while) and hopefully that'll keep
the Intel chip's prices down, as I am a fan of Intel. I never tried AMD CPU's
before but I was always happy with the Intel CPU whenever I bought a new one,
even with my current P4. So until I get disappointed with a new Intel CPU, until
Intel's prices go way up, or until AMD CPU's vastly outperform Intel's latest
CPU's, I'm probably going to stick with Intel.

Definitely not. A few years from now, if i'm still doing chess programming, I
might consider optimizing for the new 64-bit cpus like itanium or hammer.

The software activation is a pain. I hope that it's not applied to other
operating systems. Linux is free so it probably would not make sense there.

Fritz has some music and speech which is good, but I think making a 3D board
would be a waste of time. A 3D board on the screen is not at all the same as an
actual chess board with 3D pieces. A 3D board on the screen is very annoying. I
would prefer an actual chess board but for a program, a 2D board is good enough.
I don't mind seeing some neat graphics on the pieces though.
