This occurred in a testgame, Yace vs. Arasan: [D] 8/4kp2/4p3/p2pP2n/Pp2nPp1/1P2P1P1/2K1N3/4B3 b - - Yace played f6! and won. The current released version of Arasan (5.4) takes a long time to find this. My latest development build takes about 25 seconds on an Athlon 1.3GHz. Crafty 18.10, however, selects it instantly and sticks to it. I haven't had time to analyze this yet. Is there some obvious piece of knowledge that makes the solution easy for some programs, hard for others? --Jon
