Unless you specifically put files in directories other than the default, then
all you need to do is copy over ALL of the files in your user folder to matching
folder on your new machine. This would be the (for example)

C:\Program Files\Chessmaster 8000\Users\Matthew

directory.

However, if you have created any personalities or opening books, then you will
have to fish those out of their respective directories as well. They will be
easy to find if you just sort by date in Windows Explorer.

The only minor "gotcha" that I can think of is that, if you are running in a
different resolution on your new computer (if you are also upgrading your
monitor), then your layout will be for your previous machine, and you'll need to
resize/move all of the windows.

Other than that, there should be no problem.

Unless, of course, your new machine is running Windows 2000 or NT. Then, the
program may not work at all!

If your new machine is running XP, then you may also experience one or both or
neither of these two bugs:

1) Menus not being drawn properly. All you will get is a "blank" drop-down
window when you click on a top-level menu item.
2) Attempting to play a Rated Game against any personality other than
"Chessmaster" will result in you ALWAYS playing against "Chessmaster".

Please let me know if you get either of these bugs. Good Luck!
