The following is the contents of the comet.ics file I'm using: MAX_HASH [nr of megabytes]: 12 PONDER [ON or OFF]: OFF SELECTIVITY [ON or OFF]: ON BOOK [ON or OFF]: ON Maybe the .ics file is only supported by the newest version that I mentioned in my previous post? This is what I found in Comets readme-file "english.txt": <QUOTE:> Comet also supports the interface WINBOARD, which is being developed by the GNU project. Please start the corresponding WIN-32 console program "Comet-wb.exe" without parameters. By default, i.e. without the below mentioned init-file, this program plays in the following configuration: MAX_HASH: 12 (size of hash table in MB) PONDER: ON (also use opponent's time ?) SELECTIVITY: ON (selective play on or off) BOOK: ON (use of book ON or OFF) These configuration entries can be changed in the initialization file COMET.ICS using a standard editor. (Use capital letters for the keywords ON and OFF.) You should take into account that Comet allocates, in addition to the above hash table about 3 MB for code and further data structures !!!! <ENDQUOTE> Greetings, Heiko.
