Some questions on your protocol:
1.  I notice that Robert Hyatt has made extensions to FEN to allow for:
   A.  Castling possibilities
   B.  En-passant status.
Do you support this sort of functionality for positional notation?

2.  I notice that the CDB author Peter Klauser has a TCP/IP interface to
his software.  It might be nice to meld a common interface an publish a
final spec.

3.  Will your software allow flexible configuration of port number?
This has proved to be a headache in times past [ESPECIALLY when someone
uses an established port number but also when the port number cannot be
changed].
