The next one will be the fourth, hence CCT4. The dates that Volker is proposing are in December 2001 (the tourney is sort of every six months). The tournament is restricted to chess program authors, or their designated operators. In the past, the majority of participants have been "accompanied" by their programmers. Most programs run automatically using xboard/winboard or equivalent software. At the moment, Volker's dates are just proposals; the rules and format for CCT4 are under active discussion here at the moment. Andrew
