Although I am not in the same league as Bruce or the other "pros", I work at MS
and would be more be euphoric to help build a chess engine for a living.  Tom
Kerrigan and Sam Slutsky are here also, that I know of.  Eugene is in the
compiler group...  So there are enough people with a clue about chess
programming to make a go at it.

That said, I haven't heard anything about this project.  In fact it's been made
pretty clear to me in the past that MS is not interested in developing a serious
chess engine....
