It is not easy for humans to imagine the picture after some checks so I do not
think that it is straightforward for humans.

There is also more than one possibility to play checks for white and if you are
not lucky to start with the right line you may have problems.

I did not try to solve it with no computer but it is clear for me that I am
going to need to play moves in a real board and it is going to take me more than
2 minutes to see the mate.
