Hallo, I don't know who is in charge of the tournament this time and I am not sure if this already has been discussed and decided - just a few questions. It seems there will probably be about 40 competitors in the cct-4 . Why 11 rounds then ? 7 rounds should be enough and make schedule easier. This would also allow to make it a one-weekend event and not two weekends and probably make it more attractive for spectators. How about time control ? I have seen a few time controls discussed - is the 60/10 final ? Is there a referee already ? There should be one. I can't remember who did the job last time but I remember he did well :-). After the last tournament a few suggestions regarding rules have been discussed to avoid possible problems . Have any of these been implemented for the January event ? To name some: a.) Only automated programs allowed. b.) Rules for disconnections ? c.) Rules for newcomers ? None of this is _my_ business but as I believe the cct's are the future of computerchess tournaments I'd like to see them discussed to make it easier for the professionals to participate also. I remember i.e. Ed Schroeder mentioned he needed some of them resolved before he would participate with Rebel. Regards, pete
