Your experience? >Fernand what volkswagen for a german in germany, is citroen for a french guy in france. almost anybody has a citroen. one of the reason to have a citroen is, that it is - like a palm - a different car. andre citroen always took care that citroen cars work different than normal cars. the citroen sm, ds, cx, xm, xantia, c5 and others e.g. use no methal suspension but a mixture of oil and gas to do suspension. this makes a different suspension and also allows the car to move not only forward and backwards, but also into the air and down to the earth. the driving is like flying a plane, because oil and gas is a much better method to suspend a car. the sm was a sports car with a maserati-engine, and despite of this, good suspended. in NORMAL cars you cannot have both, fast and good suspended. in normal cars you drive hard and everything on the street is aching your backbones. not in a citroen. on of the best system ever invented is the activa system, a car that has almost NO angle when you drive into a curve. with a normal sports car you will get problems when driving faster into a curve than getting 0.6 g (earth velocity). taking a honda nsx e.g., bmw m-series , koni- or bilsteinaxes, 0.9 is the definitiv end. with a xantia activa v6, you can drive with 1.2 g and it is still convinient. the driver would normally not feel that it is a curve. to make sure he will feel something, the car automatically emulates angles when the velocity is higher 0.6-0.9. in fact up to one angle. a normal xantia without activa would produce 3.5 angles, more than 4 times the effect of the activa. if you ever see a xantia, and it is said this is an activa, try it out, because it is very rare. i do drive a normal xantia. convinient enough for me. and much better suspension than any other car i ever drove. its like flying. and i do totally relax when sitting in the car. its like relaxing on a sofa. driving makes fun. you leave the car in a complete peaceful mood. ready for your family. the cars i had before your left the car in an aggressive mood, due to the mean suspension that makes your backbones nervous. but nothing drives you like a citroen. try it out.
