If you want your engine to work under the Fritz implementation of the WinBoard
interface, which send a new command after every move, then you might want to
consider having two functions (one a subset of the other) so that you do not
_have_ to reset the hash tables etc after every new command.

My program has a reset (which clears the hash) and also a new function that does
not.  (Reset calls new of course.).  Since I never got my program working
properly under Fritz and now use Linux it is academic, but maybe worth
considering.
