I think you're maybe missing what's being said.

The No MMX engine don't show up in Fritz 7 interface with a computer
that is MMX capable. Therefore the engine you get in your Fritz 7 interface is
the standard Fritz 7 engine. If it were No MMX it would state that in the game
display.

This engine No MMX will show up in another interface such as Deep Fritz as will
the normal Fritz 7 engine.

The engine on the CD Fritz 7.eng is version 7,0,0,1.
If you start Fritz 7 and simply log onto the server it will upgrade the program
and change the engine version to 7,0,0,2. So if you want to keep the original
move it else you'll have to re-install the CD to get it back.
