If you draw a graph of elo rating against the proportion of draws, it clearly shows that there's an upper limit of about 4000 - above which all games will be drawn. The graph for humans has been done by the secretary of the USCF - and is published on the WWW (sorry - the bookmark's on my other computer). I have (quickly and unscientifically I admit) looked at samples of games on the SSDF website, and these appeared to confirm that computers also generate a higher proportion of draws as the elo rating gets higher. -g
