Heiner, this is indeed impressive. My program cannot prove shortest mates.
However, it tries hard anyway (by disabling almost all pruning in the case of an
alpha mate score). I get the mate in 18 rather fast, and if I do not have any
very serious bug, the sore should be a reliable lower bound.

After your post, I do not have any doubt, that even the longest time would help
to find anything shorter. Yace would like to show a sample mating line, but in
this case it can't, because I have not installed all the (for normal playing
mostly useless, probably even hurting the performance) promotion TBs.
