Slater, maybe there is a difference in speed-up for Shredder depending on the type of dual. Like Vincent, I also use a dual Athlon. My nodes per second in the starting position with 256MB hash goes from appr. 295 to 445, so it's about 1,5x. If you are using an Intel based dual your 1,8x can be explained.
