Three months ago I read that the Chinese Chess Team was going to be provided with the Program Deep Junior to train for the FIDE qualification, and at that time I thought that it was ridiculous, since Humans practicing against each other is the oldest and most efficient way of training, specially if you are going to compete against other humans and NOT against tactical monsters. The elimination of Karpov by one of the chinese member is an indication that whatever method they used by using a Chess program to gain any edge is proving to be an effective method. Probably they just used Deep Junior to improve their tactical ability. Hmm I just wonder, could a chinese surprise the World by Qualifying for the first time. Pichard.
