Nobody else has reported this problem, and I can't imagine how changing the
format of your hard drive would cause the mouse to be non-responsive (and
especially only in certain rooms).

Try this:

Create a Rated Game in the tournament room and pick any opponent OTHER than
Chessmaster. When the game starts, who is your opponent? Are you able to make a
move? Try it with you playing both White and Black -- if your opponent is White,
does he make the first move?
