I am not sure how they train their player now, i am also not sure if any program play significant role there. To me, it is not surprise at all, 1. Chinese player usually tacticly strong, faster time control can only help them. 2. Chinese player worked as a TEAM, which means they share their research/analysis to each other. This can be a big help for openning preparsion. 3. Because of the Success of Xie Jun some time ago, more and more chinese kids start to play chess. GM Pu is a example of this. 4. Internet/computer is wildily available in china now, this remove a big disadvantage they had before - lack information outside of china. I can only see that even bigger waves will come from china. A world champion in 10 years? It is not impossible. Ren.
