We all know that this is a chess message board, but probably his was asking how
he can benefit from playing against Chess softwares. One of the best way to
improve your tactics is by playing many games against Gambit Tiger, Fritz and
many others tactical programs. Also by playing at least 1000 games he can
benefit by learning different openings and avoiding sharp traps, and he can also
improve his endgames tremendously unless his is already rated over 2400. From my
own experience lately I have been practicing against Gambit Tiger 2 and even if
I'm only rated estimated around 1600 NOT Oficially by any organization, I
managed to draw two games out of 5 against a player rated by the USCF 2315. I
admit that I have not taken any lessons ever from a human chess trainer, but by
simply matching Gambit Tiger 2 against Deep Fritz, Junior and playing many games
against these programs, I am simply learning new openings, plus I have improve
my tactical abilities tremendously.
