Also I think you (or I) misunderstood what Bob said about e4. My understanding is that if you have a pawn capture on e4 that is the only legal pawn move to e4, you still can't just say "e4". That's because it's missing the "x" to denote a capture. Since I've never seen a plain "xe4" I assume you still should specify a file... as in "dxe4" (even if the only legal pawn move to e4 is the d pawn capturing there). Scott
