My program is about 1800. A related question is: Is there a limit to how much better the program can be than the programmer (or chess advisor)? I doubt I could write a competitive chess program since I wouldn't know what to put in the evaluation function. And Deep Blue had a grandmaster advisor. Is anyone's program more than 400 points stronger than the programmer (or advisor)? Perhaps once the program is strong enough that the programmer can't beat it, the programmer can't figure out how to improve it easily? David
