This weren't my experiments, but by G.Rehburg published in a 6 page article in
CSS 4/2001. Two PII/450 were used, time controls were 30 min/game. The positions
were the Nunn Endgame Test suite (10 positions). I post the positions below in
PGN; I don't have EPD at the moment. Participants were Shredder 5, Deep Fritz,
GT 2.0, Junior 7, Nimzo 8, Hiarcs 7.32 and Crafty 18.07.

The total result was TBS vs. No TBS: 70.5 - 69,5. But that includes a QP-Q
tablebase position (10.5 - 3.5). If you remove that from the total results, it
turns out 60.0 - 66.0, IOW the No TBS side was better...

Did you let play "with TBS" against "without TBS" (same engine)? That was how
the experiment was done.

According to that report, White *with* TBS lost except one, and White *without*
TBS most often has drawn, in pos. #10.
