Hi
I just wondered if there was any chessprograms that could use really big
hashtables, i got 2gigs of ram and i dont know any program that can use this
amount. The highest that I know of is Chessbase progs with approx 818Megs or
something close.
If I understand it correctly there shouldnt be any real strength improvement
when I use really big hashtables, but is the strength improvement approximating
some limit, for hashtable-size inreasing towards infinity ??
i will try here to draw with chars what i mean:
elo
xxx| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
| x xxxxxx
100| x
| x
50| x
| x
10|x
+------------------------------- tablesize in megs, kbytes ....... whatever
10 100 1000 10000 100000 +oo
Please dont comment my artful chart :)
With Regards
Kim
