This is logical of course. Better training, more people playing the game, progress in openingstheory and progress in positional and strategical knowledge about the game. Databases and computer programs etcetera. So i take such compares with a salt of grain. Fischer also never played Karpov. If karpov would have defeated Fischer (karpov was *real* good in these days) then i'm not sure Fischer would be the myth he is now. Remember fischer hardly played games. I think in his entire life like only 780 games? I'm just 28 now and only amateur. But i already played more games than that at 40 in 2 level. I get like 52 games a year easily. Best Regards, Vincent
