Lookiing at the position with Fritz 6, it seems that h4 is the only move to both
give White's king an escape square AND threaten to push to h5 to chase Black's
queen from a key defensive square in key variations.

1.h4

   [1.Qe3 Qg6 2.Re6 (2.Bd4 Re8 3.h3 Qb1+ 4.Kh2 Qg6) 2...Qb1+;

    1.h3 Rc8 2.Qe3 Qg6 3.Bd4 Re8;

    1.Rc7 Qe6 2.Bd4 (2.Qg5?? Qe1#) 2...Bd7]

1...Qxh4

   [1...Rb8 2.Qe3 Qf5 (2...h6? 3.Bd4) 3.Bd6!
      (or 3.Bd4 Rb7 4.Rxb7 Bxb7 5.Qe8+ Qf8 6.Qxa4)

    3...Rf8
       (3...Rc8 4.Be5;
        3...Rb7 4.Re8+ Kf7 5.Rf8+)
    4.Qc5 Be8 (4...Rc8 5.Be5) 5.Re1;

    1...Rc8 2.Qe3 Qg6 3.h5! Qxh5 4.Qe6+;

    1...h5 2.Rc7 Qe6 3.Qg5 Bd7 4.Bd4 Qf7 5.Bxg7]

2.Qe3 Qh6

   [2...Qf6 3.Bd4]

3.Qxh6 gxh6 4.Bd4 Re8 5.Rg7+ Kf8 6.Rxh7 Re6 7.Kf2 and White is a little better
(but can White win?)
